| Lancashire & Cumbria | A ferry ride in south Cumbria Starting from Kendal College Car Park LA9 5AY at 09:15 for 09:30. 40 miles, Hard . Meet at Kendal College Car Park LA9 5AY 9:15 for a 9:30 start. On street parking is available adjavcent to the college on Vicarage Drive. We will cycle through the town centre and take the road to Burneside then the back road to Staveley and Ings for a coffee stop at the Lakeland Farm (9 miles). Then it is up and across the gated lane to the B5284, past the golf course and down to Ferry Nab for the ferry across the lake. Then we have a bit of a climb before heading south to Lakeside for our lunch stop after 21 miles. We leave Lakeside along the new cycle path by the River Leven to Newby Bridge before crossing the A590, taking Hazelrigg Lane and Palace Lane to Seatle and then up to High Newton. We have a steep descent into the Winster Valley to Town End before a flat stretch to Gilpin Bridge for a potential tea break (32 miles). Then it is back to Kendal via Levens and Sizergh.
